Project description: The homeowner contacted us for a kitchen remodel, wanting to go from separate rooms for the kitchen, dining room, and living area to one open-floor plan style kitchen. 

The old kitchen was demolished, removing old cabinets, fixtures, flooring, paneling, lighting, and appliances. The next rooms to be demolished were the old dining room, the off-kitchen breakfast area, and den area, also removing all paneling, insulation, and previous flooring.

Next, the plumbing and electricity were moved and reconfigured, so that the majority of the new kitchen appliances would fit where the old off-kitchen breakfast area was previously. A steel beam was installed running the length of the newly opened area to support the second floor of the home. Once the steel beam went up, all other supportive framing sectioning off rooms was removed, lending to the open floor layout.

For the new kitchen, custom cabinets were built with stainless steel pulls installed, and all old appliances were replaced with stainless steel new appliances. New hardwood floors were installed throughout the area, and the old paneling was replaced with new drywall. An island and curved bar that housed the new cooktop were built for additional seating, and the customer chose marble countertops as their designated countertop materials. Pendant lights, can lights, and a chandelier over the dining room table provide ample artificial lighting. For natural light, the window over the sink was enlarged and widened, and a 3-pane sliding door was installed, allowing access to a patio and pool area. Electrical receptacles were abundantly installed on the back wall of the kitchen, as well as on the island to provide electricity for small appliances.
